I take great pride in confirming that from my personal experience, Dr. Alejandro Badia is the top medical/orthopedic doctors around. Dr. Badia was instrumental in repairing the flexor tendon on my left index finger after it was accidentally severed in 2004. After a complex surgery, the scar tissue growth around the finger hindered movement and slowed progress during therapy. Dr. Badia did not hesitate to ensure that immediate corrective action was taken to ensure that I was able to optimize the use of my left index. I underwent a second surgery and was on the road to recovery in no time. Through my encounters with him, Dr. Badia always took the time to explain (in simple terms) the details and was very patient in responding to all my concerns. Prior to surgery, he took the time to explain the steps and it made the situation a lot more comfortable. On a personal note, thanks to Dr. Badia, I continue to be able to play the guitar and my finger has gained almost all of its mobility. Above all, my index has recovered so well that sometimes, I don’t remember the accident and continue life in a very normal manner. Dr. Badia is personable and compassionate – he does drive you hard during therapy but that is ‘tough love’ that I only appreciated as my finger started to heal. I would refer Dr. Badia without any hesitation and wish most of the general physicians took a cue from his approach. A BIG THANK YOU, Dr. Badia!

I was referred to Dr. Badia by another doctor from New York, where I currently live. I was diagnosed with a rare case of Keinbocks disease of the lunate, at a very advanced stage, and after making several rounds to see specialists in NY area, almost gave up until I heard about Dr. Badia. He looked at my case and considered all the factors, including my age and activity level, to choose the least invasive level of surgical intervention. It has been more than 9 months since my surgery and we just had a follow up visit: I do not need a second surgery! Also, the staff and the hospital facility are of the highest standard and are on a completely different level than your standard public hospital. This was an overall good experience, even though it was my first (and last!) surgery. Thank you!!

I received excellent care from Dr.Badia and his team for my arthroscopic repair of my rotator cuff tear in my shoulder. Being a surgeon myself, I should say Dr.Badia and his team put me and my family at ease and after surgery took excellent care. He is dedicated and seems to be taking care of his patients all the time. He replies to queries immediately and gives personal care. I am impressed. My pain is relieved and am on my way to normality following physical therapy.

I developed complications after a right shoulder surgery (done by another surgeon in another country) and Dr Badia’s team helped fix that. The service was great, the facility is well equipped and very efficient. The results so far, one month later, are very good. Well recommended.

As an international patient, I was first greatly assisted in planning for surgery, even with booking the hotels and dealing with insurance. Once there, Dr. Badia and his wonderful team took the most amazing care of me before, during and after surgery. They even assisted my father who was accompanying me and had a minor injury during the trip. This was the best medical care I have ever received.

Good morning Dear Friends: I am sending you information that perhaps at some time you might need. I want to introduce to you to Dr. Alejandro Badia, a well renowned hand and upper limb surgeon and the best in the whole world for this type of surgery. I assure that he is the best, since he is my friend and most importantly, he reconstructed my son’s hand after suffering third degree burns due to an accident involving high voltage electrical wires. He had to be operated on three times and all surgeries were done at Dr. Badia’s surgical center in the United States. And thanks to God and Dr. Badia, my son is doing very well right now. Now we have him as an honorary doctor for the new OMNI Hospital in Guayaquil. Please take a look at their website so that you will see who I am talking about. Please send this information to all of your friends who might need a consult or surgery with him. I want to inform you that throughout Ecuador, there does not exist any an upper limb surgeon that reconstructs upper limbs. I knocked on many doors of every hospital and clinics, we do not have in our country, specialists in this field that utilize the most modern techniques in order to realize this type of surgical complex case. If you need more information, please contact me and I will be happy to send you more information regarding his center, of his team of professionals and who is Dr. Alejandro Badia. I had the pleasure of meeting him and his team since I was there for the three surgeries that he performed on my son. Have a wonderful day and don’t forget to send this information to all of your friends, they will thank you for it!

I’m Veroncia Yussyn, International Marketing Director at Katalyst, Medical Marketing Group, for Dr. Alejandro Badia. I have heard so many of Dr. Badia’s conferences training his colleagues and educating patients that we have organized for him, that when I had a shoulder problem, I did not think of anybody else who could treat me better than Dr. Badia. After months of waking up at night with my sore shoulder, I was really tired during the day time. After Dr. Badia treated me, I can sleep all night again and I feel energetic to go back to my work, motherhood and exercise routine! It is also a pleasure to meet, Madeleine, the international coordinator and all the staff at Badia Hand to Shoulder Center office, are not only so professional to work with, but also I have to thank them to have being treated so wonderfully as a patient!

At the outset, let me be clear about what you’ll read in my review. Dr. Alejandro Badia is a superior hand surgeon and a great human being. His Badia Hand to Shoulder Center provides wall-to-wall service and leaves nothing out. At my age, 64, I have visited a number of doctors and had a few surgeries. Dr. Badia ranks at the very top, with regard to expertise, skill, and the human qualities that make a visit to a surgeon as pleasant as possible. The center is highly efficient. I was scheduled for an initial visit, and although I came all the way from Alaska, when I entered the office I was greeted warmly by an office staff that I now regard as friends. The wait to be seen by a technician was short, and when I met Dr. Badia, he already had in hand both the x-rays of my hand that I had sent earlier and those taken moments before by the technician. In a very easy and pleasant manner he described what he would do to repair my arthritic thumb the next day. I felt well informed and reassured. The Surgery Center at Doral, which is located just across the hall from Dr. Badia’s offices, was another pleasant surprise for me. Again, the staff was fast, efficient, and very caring. I reported to the Surgery Center the day after my initial visit to Dr. Badia’s office. The outpatient surgery on my thumb took about a half hour, and I was on my feet walking out the front door in no time. All in all, for the surgery, I probably spent no more than four hours at the Surgery Center. I experienced only some minor soreness in my thumb and truly never had any actual pain. The following day I revisited Dr. Badia’s office and the original bandage came off the thumb. After Dr. Badia had examined it and made certain all was well, I was outfitted with a cast that would stay on for about six weeks. Again, Dr. Badia and his staff worked quickly, but were warm, friendly, and reassuring. Before long I was back in Alaska with a “new” thumb. You may want to know about billing. Dr. Badia, his staff, and the staff at the Surgery Center rank as saints in my book. The patience they have shown in working with insurance is wonderful. I had got a pre-certification for my surgery, and the insurance company even provided that same pre-certification directly to Dr. Badia’s staff. Still, they delayed and gave both the doctor and me the run around for months. Dr. Badia’s staff patiently sent additional information and persisted until the insurance paid, leaving me with no remaining balance at all. There are two morals to this story: Get yourself a fine doctor with a good staff – like Dr. Badia and his staff – and then don’t give up on the insurance company. No insurance company cares whether the doctor gets paid, and they don’t care if you end up owing. Only persistence and skill bring them around. Finally, through the whole process of preparing, traveling, intake, surgery, and recovery I was helped and guided by two fine ladies in Dr. Badia’s office and one in the Surgery Center. Though Dr. Badia is the best doctor I ever have known, he also has surrounded himself with the highest quality staff I ever have met. (Thanks Eneida, Raquel, and Lori!) If you need surgery on anything from the hand to the shoulder, see Dr. Badia. He’s the best, bar none.
