Miami – June 12. Dr. Alejandro Badia, a renowned hand and upper extremity surgeon and true authority in the field of arthroscopic surgery of the wrist and hands, has been named a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
The American College of Surgeons is one of the oldest and most prestigious medical organizations, entirely dedicated to elevating the ideals of doctors, always keeping the patient as the priority.

“In these times when American medicine is suffering a crisis of epidemic proportions in the areas of medical lawsuits and the loss of autonomy in decision-making by doctors, it is particularly gratifying to receive this recognition from the American College of Surgeons,” commented Dr. Badia. “This is one of the oldest and most prestigious medical organizations committed to the preservation of medical ideals.”
This is not the first professional distinction for Dr. Badia. His efforts in the development of his own surgical techniques in the field of hand surgery have earned him honorary appointments in the hand surgery societies of Venezuela, Italy, and Argentina, and he is also actively incorporated into similar societies in Peru, Brazil, and Colombia.
The American College of Surgeons promotes and encourages medical
research as well as education and the doctor-patient relationship. “I am very excited about this distinction and I hope to fulfill its ideals in my practice of the art and science of surgery,” concluded the renowned doctor.
Dr. Alejandro Badia is one of the surgeons at the center of excellence, Miami Hand Center.
