Step inside the operating room and discover how a minimally invasive shoulder arthroscopy is performed.
In this procedure, a small camera is introduced into the joint, allowing the surgeon to visualize key structures such as the labrum and biceps. Through 2–3 small portals, specialized instruments like shavers, retrievers, and thermal probes are used to treat the affected area.
The camera is then repositioned from the glenohumeral joint to the subacromial space, providing access to important structures. This allows the surgeon to perform procedures such as bursectomy, release areas of impingement, and repair the rotator cuff when necessary.
At the end of the procedure, PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) may be injected to help stimulate healing. Finally, the small incisions are closed with absorbable stitches.
