Relief Without Compromise: A Minimally Invasive Solution for Basal Joint Arthritis
For years, BK—a young, active woman and wife of a South Florida physician—struggled with persistent pain at the base of both thumbs. Despite seeking care and trying conservative treatments like cortisone injections, her relief was only temporary. Because of her age, traditional open reconstruction surgery for basal joint arthritis was not an ideal option, leaving her caught between ongoing discomfort and limited treatment choices.
Referred by a hand therapist, BK consulted with Dr. Alejandro Badia to explore a more advanced, minimally invasive alternative: arthroscopic treatment of the basal joint.
