Becoming an entrepreneur was never part of my original plan as a physician. I trained as an orthopedic surgeon with a clear purpose: to treat conditions affecting the hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders and help patients return to the activities that matter most to them—whether that means work, sports, or simply everyday life.
Over the years, however, I realized that delivering excellent orthopedic care involves more than what happens in the operating room or during a consultation. Too often, patients face a healthcare system that can be fragmented, inefficient, and costly. Someone with a wrist fracture, for example, may spend hours in an emergency room, wait days or even weeks to see an orthopedic specialist, and then travel to multiple locations for diagnostic imaging, physical therapy, and medication. These delays and obstacles rarely improve the patient experience—and in some cases, they can interfere with timely treatment and recovery.
