11/2/2011
Miami, November 2, 2011 Dr. Alejandro Badia, world-renowned hand and upper extremity surgeon, president of ISSPORTH (International Society for Sport Traumatology of the Hand), will be at Casa de Campo, La Romana, to participate in the DR Open (international golf tournament), where he has been invited to speak to golfers about the most common injuries in these athletes.
Dr. Badia implements the brand new Relef technology that has just been released in the United States. The Relef Procedure initiates the body’s own response by delivering safe and effective energy to the damaged tissue, and encourages non-invasive wound healing. He will also speak, along with Dr. Pedro Garcia (General Surgeon) and Dr. Ramón Cabreja (SCD Medical Director and anesthesiologist), about the latest minimally invasive procedures.
Dr. Badia is also an expert in arthritis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and associated injuries that can hinder the normal rhythm of life for any of us, even sports professionals.
Dr. Badia says, “It is always a pleasure for me and my colleagues to visit the Dominican Republic.” Badia adds, “It is extremely satisfying when a professional athlete consults with me. It is imperative for them to be treated properly, to heal as soon as possible and be able to return to their intense training routines. It is a challenge for me, and my passion is to make that intervention a success.” Badia has a long history of treating competitive athletes in golf, tennis, the NFL, and the NBA. Dr. Badia has recently been named one of the TOP 45 great hand and upper extremity surgeons recognized by Becker’s Orthopedic & Spine Review.
