This video demonstrates the results of the under treatment of what may seem like just a “jammed finger,” showing that it may be a bigger deal than you think. The procedure includes a trigger finger release, a PIP joint capsulectomy to release a flexion contracture, and the release and resection of a scarred A3 pulley.
It also highlights the resection of pathological checkrein ligaments, pinning of the PIP joint in extension, fluoroscopic confirmation, and skin closure, along with a look at the pre-op and post-op results.
A jammed finger can lead to serious complications if untreated; seek immediate orthopedic care to prevent long-term damage and ensure proper recovery for this often-overlooked injury. Tune in for another #LST in 2 weeks!
