Alejandro Badia, MD, FACS es un cirujano de mano y cirujano ortopédico de las extremidades superiores que trata problemas ortopédicos de la mano y la muñeca, el brazo y el antebrazo, el codo y el hombro en el Badia Hand to Shoulder Center en Doral, Florida. Durante una década, organizó una reunión anual en Miami para cirujanos y terapeutas dedicada a la artroscopia y artroplastia de los miembros superiores.
En 2005, el Dr. Badia cofundó el mundialmente reconocido Miami Anatomical Research Center (M.A.R.C.), el laboratorio de entrenamiento quirúrgico en cadáveres más grande del mundo. Es miembro fundador del American Hand Institute, un grupo de expertos y una empresa emergente (start-up) de dispositivos médicos enfocada en soluciones mínimamente invasivas para la patología de la mano, la muñeca y el codo.
En 2008, completó el Badia Hand to Shoulder Center, un centro clínico totalmente integrado para los miembros superiores que también abarca el Surgery Center at Doral, servicios de rehabilitación y un centro de imágenes por resonancia magnética (MRI). Más recientemente, el Dr. Badia inauguró OrthoNOW®, el primer centro de atención ortopédica de urgencia inmediata en el sur de la Florida, el cual cuenta con cirujanos de la Doral Orthopedic Clinic (DOC); un grupo de cirujanos de las subespecialidades de extremidades inferiores, miembros superiores y columna vertebral, que también tratan problemas ortopédicos electivos en pacientes internacionales.
